Google’s Pixel phones are known for their great cameras and software but also come with relatively heavy price tags, which may be off-putting to a large portion of the gallery. The company is set to offer a duo of cheaper Pixel phones in the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL—or Pixel 3 XL Lite, depending on who you ask—next year, and word on the grapevine says it could be coming by early spring.

Spring is generally the busiest period for smartphone releases, with heavy hitters like the Samsung Galaxy S10, Huawei P30, and OnePlus 7 expected to be launched right around then. The Pixel 3 Lite duo will have to battle for attention.

While images of the duo have been revealed, specifications are still not set in stone. One will likely feature a Snapdragon 670, while the other could opt for a Snapdragon 710. RAM could start at 4 GB; storage at 32 GB. Both phones could feature headphone jacks, which is a pleasant surprise. Both will also sport one rear cameras and selfie camera.

Price is where the Pixel 3 Lite phones could be won or lost. Rumors say the smaller one will ship with an MSRP of US$400-500, which would make it unspectacular value for money.
