Victoria Beckham’s fashion empire has plunged further into the red

Victoria Beckham’s fashion empire has plunged further into the red.

Losses at the former Spice Girl’s luxury brand widened to £10.5 million last year compared with £8.5 million a year earlier, as it continued to invest in the business, including overhauling its website.

Victoria Beckham has stores in London and Hong Kong and also sells its high-end womenswear and accessories in Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and US department store Bloomingdale’s.

Revenues jumped 17 per cent to £42.5 million last year, a marked improvement on a year earlier when sales came in flat.

Sales were boosted by a limited edition designer range launched with US discount retailer Target, which saw 150 lines sell out within hours.

It has also signed a deal with sportswear brand Reebok and former basketball star Shaquille O’Neal.

The fashion business is owned by Beckham Brand Holdings.
